Two Generations of Family Farming

Jimmy Ho founded their first mushroom farm in New Jersey back in the late 1990’s as the popularity of donko shiitake mushrooms started to skyrocket in the United States.

He saw the opportunity to bring centuries worth of shiitake growing techniques from China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea in order to create the best around.

Mushroom King Farm started out as a local distributor and became a fan favorite in the area. In 2014, Joshua joined his father in his quest to grow the family business. Within a few years, they exponentially grew throughout the east coast gaining notoriety with major retailers.

Several years ago Joshua stepped into the CEO role for the company and expanded into the west coast through their California location. Mushroom King Farm's organic shiitake mushrooms are featured in many amazing retailers across the nation.

Just like how a mushroom's mycelium spreads out and builds it's own networks. Mushroom King Farm is rapidly expanding throughout the United States!

2nd Generation Owner

Joshua graduated with a Master’s degree from Drexel University and eventually went on to work at one of the biggest financial firms in the country. He ended up leaving the firm in 2014 in order to help his family grow the farm into what it is today! Outside of the world of mushrooms; Joshua is passionate about powerlifting, rock climbing, and traveling the world with his dog, Dasher.
